what is meaning of Name Rahul
Can any one let me know the meaning of Name Rahul
Replies
Rahul and Rahil
The Arabic form of Rahel is Rahil. Rahul is only a masculine Indian name.
The four Arabic names books that I checked don't list Rahul, and the only that has an equivalence for Rahel (Rahil) is The Book of Muslim Names.

As I asked before on this board, where did the meaning come from? I am not aware of this meaning, and I just checked one dictionary, and it does not provide this meaning either.
It was indeed the name of Gautama Buddha's son, and is quite popular in some parts of India. I always thought that it meant someone who grabs hold of you, an epithet of earthly desires.

Is it male or female? And what country is it from?
