Most Muslim names are Arabic, and as Arabic is written in a completely different alphabet than English and other western European languages, there would be more than one "correct" way to transliterate Arabic names into English. So both Areeb and Arib are probably "correct", though modern scholars would be more likely to use Arib.
A Dictionary of Muslim Names by Salahuddin
Ahmed gives "bright, brilliant, clever" as the meaning of Arib.
The same book gives "springs, pools, fountains" as the meaning of Manahil.
