Has anyone ever heard of the name Meiah? And if so...what origin is this and what does it mean? Or is this just a fancy spelling for Mia? The person who named their daughter this pronounces it like Mia (Me-a)...I have not had a chance to ask her the above questions and am anxious for answers before I talk 2 her next.

Is she of Chinese descent? Because according to this site, Mei means either "beautiful" or "plum" and Ah is a meaningless fragment that is used as a diminutive. So in Chinese, it's "beautiful" or "plum." I'd guess they were going for "beautiful."
