Aimee...
How is 'Aimee' pronounced? I know many people who spell it this way, but pronounce it like 'Amy.'

Aimee's the french spelling of Amy. Technically, it should have an upward accent on the first E. That means it should be pronounced, if you've done French, Em-ey (the ey sounding like the last letter of Cafe).
A girl in my class has her name spelt this way, but they just pronounce it Amy.

In french it would be "Ai" as the "e" in "end", "mee" with a clear "é", a bit as in "mental", but clearer :) (Does the french "é" sound exist in english? Just can't think of any word ...). On the page here it is spelled as "e-MAY", but it doesn't have an "y" sound at the end. The masculine form "Aimé" is pronounced the same way.
Sounds really different from the english "Amy".

In the English speaking world, yes.
