ArchivesIs "olding" a Scottish surname?
I know someone whose last name is olding and I want to know if it is Scottish because I think he is. If it is Scottish, how come I can't find any clans that are "Olding?" If it is not Scottish, what language is it?

Olding might well be a surname used in Scotland...
It doesn't necessarily follow that it's attached to a clan. Not every Scottish name is.
The language is English, as it is for many Scottish names.
