We used to know a person named Celise, and we are considering naming out next daughter that, but we have not been able to find an origin or meaning of the name anywhere. We considered that it might be a derrivative of Celeste or Cecilia, but neither of them list "Celise" as a derrivative. Both Celeste and Cecilia have very different meanings, as well, so we wouldn't know which one to attribute it to. Has anyone ever heard of the name before, or can you direct me to a database where it is listed? I really didn't think the name was that unusual!
