Tamris; gender, female. Pronounced tam-riss. Ethnic background; deprived from tamis, which is from Tanis, which is from Tanith, meaning "serpent lady" in Near Easter Mythology. However, since I've never seen this name anywhere else except on my birth certificate, I assume it means something else.
