new to the boards, so i apologize if i am asking a question that's been asked already. i'm trying to find a name that goes along the lines of "Teacher, Trainer." i tried doing a meaning search on the site, but nothing seemed to have come up. any ideas?

The main page of BtN has a Search feature which allows you to search by meaning.
Unfortunately, the only name that popped up when I searched for "teacher", "trainer", "teach", or "train" was Diego, which may ultimately derive from a Greek word meaning "teaching".
Doc is occasionally used as a name. It's nmsaa, but as a short form of Doctor it also ultimately means "teacher": http://snipurl.com/g6u7.

Robert has nothing to do with "teacher".

As a matter of fact, yes Robert does have something to do with teacher. It has a meaning of "Son of a rabbi or teacher".
I think the name Mentor would be suitable
