Re: Frequency of the name Ludwig in Germany.

Hi Lucille,
Ludwig is seen to be a very old-fashioned name in Germany nowadays. Personally I don't know of any Ludwig who is younger than 70 years old in Germany.
But the name has got a kind of come-back in Sweden right now. It's mostly spelled Ludvig, but also Ludwig, and in 2002 it was the 28th most popular name for boys in Sweden. So I won't be surprised if it will become popular in Germany again, too.
Regards, Satu

Thanks Satu, that really helps me a lot! :) I live in the Netherlands (where that name really isn't common at all), but I'm of German descendent, so that's why I was wondering about how common the name is in Germany. Now that I know more about the frequency of Ludwig, I could use it in the future for one of my kids perhaps, because I really love the name (but I wouldn't have used it if it were too common). :)
Thanks again! :)

Lucille
