origin of surname
high, i`m searching for the origin of my surname,which is "naser". i come from germany, and, as far as i know, all my ancestors have been living here as well. but this name can be found in the arabic region, too. i don`t think i have ancestors from arabia because i have blonde hair and blue eyes! so is there also an origin in western europe and what is its meaning? thank you, gwen

The meaning of Naser might be "salesman". There is an old Swedish word for this - "nasare" (NAH-sa-reh, almost like Nazareth :). I know that many Swedish words that has something to do with trade are borrowed from German.
