Mary, have you tried U.S. Federal Census records? You may find a clue in there.
Obviously your family name is a very rare one, or perhaps even one of those legendary Ellis Island misspellings. I checked the Mormons Family Search site, and there were only three Liacabucos listed there -- all the ones which you'd already mentioned -- and the only records cited for them were the U.S. Social Security Death Benefits records.

Birth: 6 Oct 1902 State Where Number was Issued: New York Death: 14 May 1992
2. Inez LIACABUCO - U.S. Social Security Death Index
Birth: 14 Mar 1912 State Where Number was Issued: New York Death: Nov 1985
3. John LIACABUCO - U.S. Social Security Death Index
Birth: 10 Dec 1916 State Where Number was Issued: New York Death: 2 Sep 1969
