Please add my name
I searched for my name on your message board, I came up with close results, but not my exact name.
My name is Emmelina (female gender), and I am of Italian decent. My parents were both born and raised in Italy. I am named after my paternal grandmother, but I know little about her immediate family, except for the fact that she came from nobility.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me what origin my name has (I don't believe it is Italian, because this name is considered extremely rare even in Italy. In fact, when I am in Italy, people often ask me where my name comes from).
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Hi Emmelina,
your name is Italian. It's an Italian form of these Old German names:
1) Emma - short form of names beginning with Ermen- or Irmen-, meaning: universal, enormous
2) Amalia - meaning: belonging to the East Gothic royal dynasty of the "Amaler/Amelungen" (Gothic ´amals´ = capable, active, working)
3) Amalinda - meaning: see Amalia + "mild or serpent or linden wood"
Regards, Satu
