Does anyone know the meaning of this name, Tanzada or Tansada? They also called her Tanzaty. William & Delilah Haney's family had some odd names, including Tarsa (girl), Marvel (boy),& Bethley (boy). William & Delilah were from the South, but all these children were born in IL. after 1838. There has always been reports of Indian blood, but only one line of Haneys have it documented & it's not this line. Any suggestions as to where to look? It sounds Arabic or slightly Russian to me. But it may be a variation on Irish names? Since Haney is Irish.
