I know this topic has been discussed in the past. (many times) But I forget the way it goes. Some friends of mine are expecting a baby. If it is a boy, the want to name him Malcolm, after my friends brother and father. Since he is not naming the baby after himself, would the baby still be a third? THanks for the help.

Does that mean Malcolm III's great great great great great grandson would be Malcolm X ? :P

The baby would be Malcolm II, provided that he also bears the same middle and last names of his Uncle Malcolm.
If a son were to be born to Uncle Malcolm, however, and named exactly after his father, and provided Grandpa Malcolm is still alive, then Malcolm Jr.'s child would be "Malcolm III".
