Does anyone know the actual etymology of the name Avidan? I am writing a story, and the man's name is Avidan (his brother's name is Matteo, but I have that one). Thanks!

Actually I realized something I forgot to add: here on this site, it does have the name Avidan; I am looking for how it came to be corrupted from Abidan to Avidan... hope that makes sense.

Bs and Vs are commonly interchangeable in Hebrew names, as shown in Abigail (Avigayil), Abital (Avital), and Deborah (Devorah).Hope I helped!Mina

the name in hebrew means father of Dan ( Daniel). in hebrew and arabic it is very common to use such names like Abu Mazen = father of mazen etc
