Our surname was angalized from the Czech name Hruska.
In the Czech language the name means the fruit pear;
Pear trees were introduced into central Europe about
12th century.
In the Polish, Ukraine, Russian language the usual
spelling is Gruszka.

As Maeve has stated, we can't do our "magic" without a little help. As the old proverb says: "God (or the gods) help(s) those who help themselves."
