i have just been searching for my name on the site but it isn't there. Although i didn't think it would be as it is not a persons name it is a village in wales that my dad named me after. i would love to know the meaning of my name though. and if there is anyone else with the same name.so if you could help i would be gratefull

I don't know what Llowes means, but I'll look it up at the weekend - check back then :) It doesn't look very much like any modern Welsh words that might be in village names, so the original (medieval) form probably looks a little different :)

Luckily, we have a Welsh expert on this site, but until she responds, you can try typing "Llowes in Wales" in any search machine (if you haven't already done so). I couldn't find anything about the name, but there are some interesting sites about the village (it boasts with beautiful views and a church from the 7th century).
