Name Gurus!
At this site http://www.kaeori.net/ (a very extensive and creditable site)I found three names that I'm curious about. Here they are with their listed with pronunciation, origins and meanings.Leuk : LAY-ook : Indo-European : light / brightness / to shine / white (m)
Leuk : LYOOK : Greek : light / brightness / to shine / white (m)Leuka : LYOO-kuh : Greek : to shine / white (f)There's a foot note for the first Leuk saying "Both this concept and word/name have been around for thousands of years. Definitely history behind this name"What I want to know is how do these names mean what they mean, why are they not just variants of Luke / Lukas (from the Greek Loukas).Thx for you time.
