It has a meaning all right. In the Zoroastrian religion of Old Persia, a Daev is an evil deity that supports Druj ("wrongness"). Sort of a demon or devil, on steroids.Not a flattering name for a child and certainly not a girl's name. Not sure in any case why you'd consider giving a girl a name that would be universally interpreted as male every time it's spoken.How about "Betty Lou"?
