In one of my baby books i found
MIETTE-from the french, `Small sweet thing`
but i dont know if this meaning is reliable or not you know what these books are like :)

My best guess would be that it could perhaps be formed from Aimee with the -ette ending. Which would give you Little Beloved Girl. But if it's actually done like that in France by real people, I don't know.

Miel is the french for honey, maybe it's from there?
