Hi all,
My brother
Shawn and his wife
Danielle had a baby boy just 3 months ago. They named their little boy:
Dumas
Elijah Quirke
Ever since Dumas' birth, I've been wondering about the meaning and origin of his name. I asked
Shawn and
Danielle about it, but they said they had just heard it somewhere and loved the name.
I myself only know Dumas as a French surname, namely of the writer
Alexander Dumas (he wrote "The Three Musketeers"). Maybe there's a connection? If so, then what does Dumas mean? I think it's a combination of two words, just like many other French surnames have, like Dupont, Lenoir, Leblanc, etc.
Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.
