I'm attempting to write a fantasy novel, but I am missing a name for the main character. Below is a short description.
A vivacious twelve year old girl. Very thick, wavy brown hair. Not plain looking but also not pretty. If one word could be used to describe her appearance it would be "wild".
I'm looking for an uncommon, but still pretty name. I would like it to be SLIGHTLY fantasy sounding. (A good example would be Phillip Pullman's "Lyra." I don't want off-the-wall fantasy names like "Divenelle," please.)
If ANYONE could help I would be extremely grateful. Thanks!

However, I think that if you look at the "Status of the Database" page, it'll be helpful. Look at the names in the languages that only have a couple names listed. Those are often very interesting.
I'm not sure what I'd suggest for your character. She's yelling "ZARA!" to me, which fits your name criteria--and let me thank you for having said criteria. You wouldn't believe how sick I am of stoooooooopid made-up names used by wannabe fantasy writers. If I see one more elaboration on the name Skye (Skyelle, Skyeanna, Skylie), I am going to scream. Or puke. Or both.
