My dentist's assistant is a young (mid-20's) African-American woman with the name Santeba (Pronounced: Sahn-TEE-bah). When I asked her what it meant, she had no idea, saying that she didn't know anyone else with that name. I told her I'd check this website to see if it's there, but it's not. It would seem that "Sant" means "Saint", but have no idea about the "eba" ending.

Whenever anyone asks, her boss (my dentist) always makes up meanings for her name. My favorite is "saintly, exotic princess."
