Re: name change

If I were you I would adopt a "Hebrew lite" name, something like Adam or Michael. One of the things I respect the most sbout Judaism is that, unlike Christianity and Islam, it does not go around converting people. You are probably the only person I heard who converted to Judaism...one does not convert -- or ratherm cannot convert -- to Judaism "just like that" so if I am not too indiscreet, what's the scoop?

i have been working on this for a long time. i am just getting to the end of my conversion. i have been thinking about which name to choose because as i was told by the rabbis i am working with i do need to pick one. people can convert to judaism. there are alot of people who have. thye just don't usually go out looking for people to convert. this was entirely done by my choice. i even know some people who converted. my brother-in-law did, a friend of my father's did, and a few memebers of the class i was in. it is nothing unusual. but these people did it because they wanted to not because anyone forced them too. same goes for me.
Thanks for the insight. Cool :)
