Message: "Ichu" - Behind the Name

I have a female friend named Ichu. I was hoping that someone out there would be able to tell me the meaning of her name. I would like to surprise her with it, seeing as how she doesn't know the meaning. She was named after a Chinese lady her dad knew. That's all I know though. Thanks for your help!

Eric--

I looked around for this and all I could find was that it is typically a masculine name and that it may be a place name because Ichu is a township in the county of Chiayi, Taiwan.
