Satchel as a first name
Hi there,
My wife and I have just had our fifth son. We like the name Satchel as a first name, any suggestions on a second name? Our surname is Taiapa. He has four brothers. From the oldest theres Oakley then Sefton Kainoa, Manaia[aka Manni]Jack, and Harlan Blue.
As well does anyone have any meaning for the name Satchel?
Thanks,
Nate

We just named our 2nd son Satchel, w/ the middle name "True".
My husband loves it and I'm still getting used to it. Love the
nickname Satch, though.
Nicknames:
Satch
Shnitzl
Sasquach
Satchmo
Shackle
Stinky
His 4 yr. old bro calls him Shashel.
It does mean backpack.
Congrats!

Here's my personal suggestion
Stand at the top (or bottom) of a flight of stairs, then yell at the top of your lungs every possible combination you can think of. The one that sounds most pleasant yet most, um "Oh, boy. I'm in DEEP trouble," should be the one you choose (especially since you already know that that will be the way the child [and the neighbors] will hear it most frequently.)
Phyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)

Same meaning as satchel the word - a portable container for school books.
May I suggest Louis Armstrong as a first-name middle-name combination? Then Satch would be a natural nickname.

Ah, another Satchmo enthusiast?

Satchel Cage or Satchel Gage.
