The search engine Google.com claims to have 320 hits for the exact spelling of your surname.

The message boards at Ancestry.com have only one hit : Brenda.

The Internet site US SEARCH has 13 hits.

Hi Ronald,

I don't know anybody named Lugmayer, but I know the name. It's a name from southern Germany and alternative spellings are Luegmayer, Luegmair, Lugmayr etc.
The first part of the name (Lug/Lueg) comes from the Middle High German word "luoc" which means hole, hiding-place (of the deers). The second part (Mayer) comes from the Middle High German word "meiger" which means the bigger, higher one.
