I need to settle a bet....
I'm kind of new at the whole internet thing so I was wondering if anyone might have a suggestion as to how I can look up the information that I want so I can win some money off my friend.... My mother once told me that I was named after a star in the constellation Orion. I'm betting that she's telling the truth. He's betting that she's full of shit. Anybody got an idea?

An old booklet from Mead-Johnson (probably printed in the 1960's )lists Caryn/Carin/Carina as meaning teh "the keel, one of the 5 stars in the constellation Orion". A web version of this booklet is available at http://www.meadjohnson.com/professional/article8a.html#C.
FYI: I found a website that list the Mead Johnson booklet that lists Caryn as a star in Orion. It is: http://www.meadjohnson.com/professional/article8a.html#C

I have a very old baby name book that says that names Caryn/Carin/Carina all means "the keel, one of the 5 stars in the constellation Orion". The booklet is called Names for Boys and Girls and looks like it was put ouy by Enfamil in the 1960's. It is the only source so far I have found. In fact we are using Orion as our baby's middle name and I'm also trying to find more information on this ince my mother-in-law's name is Karen and it would be nice if his name has some connection to hers. Even if it is remote.
