Yesterday I read a book on biology and found the word AFALINA (the kind of dolphins or whales) and thought *Wow! That could be a name!*

Concerning the name Afalina, try it at the loudest volume you can get without mechanical help. Then make the decision from there. :)

Stop - don't encourage the mad namers of the planet! They name their daughters Raven already!
Actually, you're right, it does sound convincing - perhaps the similarity to Evelina makes it look familiar. Wouldn't work in South Africa, though - the Afrikaans word for offal (livers and tripe and innards in general) is afval, which sounds like: AHFfahl and is too close for comfort!
