moya
Has anyone ever seen or heard of the origination on the name "Moya"( f ) ? I have searched most everywhere I can think of and cannot find a reference.
We were told it was Irish for Mary but there is no reference of it there that I can find. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm used to Moira being an Irish form of Mary - suppose it's no great distance from there to Moya. (I've seem Moyra too, actually.)However, in Zulu (South Africa) Moya means either Wind or Spirit - I like that very much.
And, still in good old SA, the Afrikaans word for prettier is mooier, which sounds about the same.
