search for Webbeys
My parents heve given me the name WEBBEY, but officially they had to register it as WEBBE, which seems to be a Frisian name, because this was the only similar sounding name that occurred in the official list.
But I want the name WEBBEY to be officially accepted.
Therefore I must prove that it really exists as a male first name.
Can anyone help me with information, please?

The only thing I can think of is that Webbey could be a form of Wiebe, which is already in the database and is listed as being used in Frisian. Alternately, could be a pet form of Webb (see: http://snipurl.com/dox1), either diminutised for the purposes of a given name or already diminutised in a pre-existing family surname. It's not much, I know.

Thank you very much, Miranda!
You helped me a lot with the link to a website. This way I could find some other Webbeys in old registers of Ancestry.com.
I'm trying to use these as a proof of the existence of my name.
Let's hope it will be accepted.
Many thanks again for your co-operation!
