My great-great-grandmother's name was Custodia Alviso. I think her name is really Maria Custodia Alviso. Anyhow, she had a twin-sister her name was Margarita Alviso. They were born in 10/21/1863. Their parents were Angel Marcario Alviso and Mercedes Quijada.
I can't find any websites or e-mail addresses that have any info on Custodia Alviso. She is a Diegueno Indian (San Diego), California Native Indian.

"Custodia" is a Latin word meaning "guarding, keeping". Probably the name had religious connotations. Modern day derivatives of "custodia" include "custody" and "custodian".
With all due respect, an anagram of Custodia Alviso is "lascivious toad".
