Are you trying to write something? There's a British publisher of romantic but respectable novels (Mills & Boon) which used to send out lists of names to its authors - mothers-in-law should have names like Barbara but heroines should have sweet little names like Mandy and Sally. This might have changed!

I try my best not to associate personality types with names, because they almost always turn out false and having an incorrect assumption can lead to lots of trouble. :)

That said, I *do* think of bubbly happiness when I hear the name Stephanie (the one Steph I know very well radiates it). No close friends of mine have any of the other names except Michael, and since just about everyone I know is named Michael (I kid you not, a friend and I even started to write a movie about it called "The Mike Conspiracy"), any personality connotations I tried to form would have about fifty split personalities and massive mood swings . . . far too many associations. ;D

Katarina: I think of a very snobby girl.
Diana: I think of a girl who thinks she is the world's greatest thing.
Stephanie: A hyper girl.
Chante: Not sure about this one.
Patrick: Goody-good boy - momma's boy.
Michael/Michal: Studious.
Marc: Popular guy.
Eric: Football player.

I think Katriana is Welsh so i think of Welsh valleys. Diana I always think of the late princess. Stephanie I think of a shy, plain person (no offence to anyone)! Chante I think of a spoiled brat because I once knew one. I guess our opinions of names are decided when we meet people with that name. Very decieving.
