Richarde as a female (French) name?!?!
Hi!Recently I've been researching my family tree again and I discovered that there's a woman called Richarde Schrijnemakers in our family. She wasn't married and had a daughter called Marie Mechtilde Schrijnemakers (the father was unknown). Marie Mechtilde was born on September 20, 1791.I live in the Netherlands, so Richarde Schrijnemakers and her daughter are also Dutch. However, their first names are French, because in and around 1791, the Netherlands was 'possessed' by the French, by Napoleon Bonaparte. So, I'm wondering if Richarde is an existing female French name? I've never came across it. If it isn't, then I guess there must've been a mistake or something in the birth certificate of Marie Mechtilde (in which I found her mother's name). Please, would some of you confirm if Richarde is indeed an existing French female name? Thank you very much in advance!Regards,Lu
