Hi!! This is Bree from Rodhe Island!

My name is Brigitta (after my aunt Brigitta ) Maria ( after my grandmother)

Everybody called me Bree since I was born.I like Bree but i'm not fond of Brigitta Maria . I just want to know other people's opinion about my name.

i was looking for the origins of my name and came across this...
everyone loves my name...I love it too...it's unique
my friends usually call me gitta and i've been known as Brigit (Bridget) as well....I don't like it...I like Brigitta.
I also get a lot of references to the Brigitta in The Sound of Music.

Sounds fine to me, though I'm not really a nickname person. Bree is the rather sinister village that the hobbits first arrive at in the beginning of Lord of the Rings, but better that than Brie - less cheesy!

Hi Bree!

Brigitta is a very good friend of mine and I like her name very much. The combination with Maria is beautiful!

All the Brigittas / Brigittes I know use their full name or Gitta / Gitte which I like very much, too.

My sister's name is Birgitte. (Birgitte is much more common in Denmark than Birgitta, although Birgitte isn't in this database yet. In English the name tends to be spelled Brigitte, as in Stallone's ex-wife Brigitte Nielsen, who is Danish and whose name was originally spelled Birgitte)...
