Can anybody help me out with the origin and meaning of the name KYA /k eye uh/? I don't know any information at all. Any info. would be much appreciated. Thanks.

My daughter's name is lya and it means Diamond in the sky and is African in origin.

Where'd you here/see/find it? I know a girl whose last name is Kia, although it's pronounced differently—KEE-uh—and I don't know the surname's ethnicity. (She's Muslim, but that doesn't necessarily mean her surname is of Muslim or Arabic origin.) Kya could be related to Kyra, or it could be made up; it's not too random of a sound.

Interesting. Apparently kya' means "dress" or something similar in a Californian language. I'm assuming you know a baby named Kya, in which case asking the people who named her either the meaning or where they got the name would be a good idea.
