Sad task
Some time ago, my mom lost a baby in the 5th month of pregnancy. Just now we found out it was a boy and we were told it was better to name that child even that long time after it's death/birth. What would a meaningful name be? I was thinking Nathan already, because it means "Gift from God". Any other suggestions?

I suggest you visit the somewhat macabre site: http://www.geocities.com/misclaneous/names.htm
Thanks for that link Pavlos... gave me the idea of suggesting "Dominik", belonging to God.
Youre most welcome. Dominic is a great name...
I'm sure that giving the baby a name will also give you closure. May I suggest Theodore? It has exactly the meaning you want - gift from God - but it could not look more different from Nathan.
I agree, that is a very good idea to name the child. I think Nathan would be perfect! I have always loved the name and the meaning seems to fit!
Problem is, that is the name of my ex-boyfriend and I associate too much with that name....
I am very sorry for your mum, you and your whole family. I wish you all the strenght you need.
But why not Nathaniel? It sounds a bit differnt than Nathan, so hopefully you won't associate it with your ex-boyfriend too much, but I'm pretty sure it means the same. You could always looks for differnt names with the same meaning (like Jonathan or maybe Isidore is nice. It means gift from Isis, the egyptian godess).
