It was originally a surname which was derived from a place name meaning "Bracca's town". Bracca is an Old English name of debated meaning.

What is "Bracca's town"? What is the history of the Olde English name and place? What does "Bracca's town" resemble? Good, evil, comfort, isolation, perhaps? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
