What the heck does my name mean?????

my mother named me Vada, and i have know idea where she got it or what it means. i am 27 years old and was shock a few years ago when i saw i movie called "my girl" and the little girl in it was called Vada. I had never heard of anyone with a name even close to mine, and really would love to know where my name came from and what it means. thanks for any help. god bless

I named my daughter Vada. I was told by a friend it ment 'first born daughter'. She said she had found the meaning on the net, but i have not as yet been able to confirm this.

My mother-in-law is named Vada and the only thing I can find for a meaning said: Created for it's pleasing sound.

The name Nevada means covering with snow. I have always thought that the snow part was Vada. Since my middle name means purity or white, I like to think of myself as "snow white".
Let me know if you find anyting else out. By the way I LOVE my name.
