What do you think of more than 3 names for a child?
I was planning to give my future son or daughter 7 first names. :) This may sound a bit weird or unusual, but what do you think of it? And I was wondering, is it allowed by law to give a child 7 first names? If some of you are wondering what names I would give my future son or daughter, I'll put it in here.Son:Rupert Gabriel Montgomery Cunibert Everett Charles GilesDaughter:Rosa Eliza Julia Aurelia Tara Michelle DeniseWhat do you think of them? Too classy? Too old-fashioned? Whatever. Please let me know. :)Lu

Thanks.....Thanks Tristan, for your positive reaction on my topic. :) For so far, you're the only one that thinks 7 names are great, and especially the names I've chosen (many people find them EEW). :)Take care,Lucille

Please don't do that. You gotta be out of your mind.

You might want to think they're 7 FIRST names, but logically, the first one will be the first, with 6 middle names.:)

I have never heard of a child having seven-first names. Two middle names or two hyphenated first names, yes, but not seven first names. Unless these names are family names, I wouldn't go with seven names. What name would you call the child?Out of the names you've chosen for your son, I like Gabriel, Montgomery, and Charles, but in a different order. This is how I would do it: Gabriel-Charles (First names) Montgomery (Middle name).Out of the names you've chosen for you daughter, I like Rosa, Eliza, and Michelle, but in a different order. This is how I would do it: Eliza-Michelle (First names) Rosa (Middle name).

I think that that's cool to have that many parts of a name, and iI also like the names that were chosen above for your future son and daughter! My cousin named her little girl, Cheyanne Kaitlynn Rose for her two first names and Rose as her middle name and then her last name is Smith! but i think it all goes together great and i dont think that there is a limit on how many names your child has!

Some of these names are family names, indeed. :) Each child will be called by their first name of all the 7 first names. So, it'll just be simply Rupert and Rosa. :) I don't think they'd have any hindrance with them having 7 names.I understand you wouldn't go with 7 names, so no comment from me there. :) I also find it kind of unique in a way: most children are given 2 to 4 names, but mine will have 7 names, so I find it kind of unique. :)Thank you for giving me your version of how you like the names, btw, although it's not my taste. That's just the thing with names: there's no accounting for tastes. :)Lu

Are you a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer?Rupert Giles is/was a character on the show. There are several other names on the girls list that are names of cast members. :) I think the law varies from state to state on how many names a child can have, but I would guess that so long all the names fit on the birth certificate it's probably allowed. As to MY OPINION on whether you SHOULD name your child seven names, I personally would stop at four. But it obviously sounds like you already have decided on the number of names and you just want to know if we like the ones you've chosen. So again, MY OPINION is this: BOY:
Rupert- love the name, but perhaps not as the 1st of the 1st names.
Gabriel- I like the name okay.
Montgomery- reminds me of an old man
Cunibert- do you know what this name means? How do you say it?
Everett- I like the name alot.
Charles- do not like this name much.
Giles- I really love this name. GIRL:
Rosa- okay but not a favorite
Eliza- love this name
Julia- it's okay, but I'd go with Jules
Aurelia- love the meaning (golden), but how do you say it?
Tara- not a favorite, but it's pretty
Denise- don't like it muchSo I guess if I were going to name a BOY it would be
Everett Gabriel Rupert Giles.
I'd name a girl
Eliza Julia AureliaAre you having a child soon, or just thinking for in the future?

No, I'm not a fan of ''Buffy, the Vampire Slayer.'' I don't watch the show. I've seen it once, but I just didn't like it. It's just not my taste, not my idea for a good TV-show. But I take it that you do watch the show?
And I think it's purely coincidence if some of the names of my future son/daughter fit with the cast members. I didn't like the show, and I don't see me naming my kid after people that play in a show I don't like. :)No, I'll tell you where I got all these names from. :) Let's start with the boy's names. Rupert is just a name I came across someday, I can't remember how, but I have always loved this name ever since then. The same is meant for the names Montgomery, Charles and Everett. Gabriel, however, is my father's first name, and Cunibert is one of the first names of my great-grandfather (I dig into my family history a lot, btw). Cunibert is a German name and can be found in this database as Kunibert. I know how this name has to be pronounced (in the German way), but I have no idea how to write that down here. :) It's just something you need to hear. :)
Finally, Giles is actually from Gilles - I have just a little bit French blood streaming through my veins, and the last name of one of my ancestors was Gilles. I liked that name, but decided I liked it even better without the second 'l'. :)As for the girl's names, Rosa is the name of my great-grandmother, and Eliza is the name of my grandmother. Julia is a name I just happen to love, and Aurelia comes from Aurelius, which is a Latin name I've always loved. My great-great-greatgrandfather borne the name Aurelius. :)
Tara is a name I first heard of when watching ''Gone With The Wind'': the land of the O'Hara family was called Tara, and, well, somehow this name just stuck with me. ;) Further, Michelle and Denise are just names that appear quite often, and I just love them. Beautiful sound especially. :)So, as you can see, most of these names are actually family names. :)And yes, I've indeed decided on the number of names. :) I only hope 7 names are allowed by law, and ofcourse I was curious to hear everyone's opinion about the names I've chosen. I know of family and friends that they don't really like the all the names (especially Rupert is a name that they find snooty), so I was wondering what other people thought, like here on the board. :)
