Try Eugenie. My guess is that someone shortened it to Genie (or Genee - I was at school with one), and then someone else heard it and tried a phonetic spelling. Either way, it would mean that you've been born, which you could probably have guessed.

I had a friend in high school that used Jene' as a nickname to Jennifer. She spelt it exactly the same way, with the e' and everything.

My guess is that like the name Janae, it's an elaborated form of Jane.
