defination of my name
I was just looking for more insight of exactly what my name meant
from my understanding it means a "proud warrior" or maybe something about being strong,Also from where in Africa I also don't know where it came from but I love it.
When I first found out my name was Nakita, I hated it I thought it was a girls name so I changed my name (mentally) to Nathainel which later found out it meant "gift from god" which was off da hingez" (cool) so as years went on I grew up and changed my name back to the original Nakita....and I am going to save Nathaniel for a rainy day just cause for some reason someone or something never lied about me being an Nathaniel (Get my drift?)

Barb, Thank You so very much, now I know for sure.
You're welcome Nakita! But I don't know for sure if the two names are related, especially if yours is from Africa. It might just be a coincidence that they have a similar meaning.
Interesting....the Russian name, "Nikita", which is probably pronounced the same, has a similar meaning to "proud warrior" ("unconquerable").
