How do you find a name that is.....
unusual, yet not extreme and not to popular, yet heard of?
I cant figure out why I am having such problems naming this one! I have Caleb and Isabelle and they are sort of in that catagory!! I kind of want soemthing that I can shorten into a nick name too!! I know I am leaving this so open but I am desperate! I am due tomorrow... though I think she is very comfy where she is!! I thought after the first one it is suppose to be easier to get the kid out! LOL UGH!!!!
Thanks if anyone can think of anything!!! I know it is so wide open.....

I like the name Cerena Dawn(or Serena depending on how you would spell it)It, naturally, means peaceful or serene dawn.
I like the name Patreesia (like Patricia but with a hard e sound)
Daphne is pretty. Good luck.:)

You could try...The Social Security lists put up by Mike Shackelford...however I see you're a regular here, so you've probably been there already. Have you tried the edited version in Unusual and...something(I forget) Names at www.namenerds.com (they've combined different spellings so you get the best overall picture for name popularity)? If you try the names around the middle of the list, they probably have the level of popularity you're looking for, and since they're not listed particularly alphabetically (not till the end anyway) it doesn't feel so much like you're just staring at a big list...

for instance (and re: winter)In the list for ranking 900-1198, names which are given to between 80 and 150 girls in the whole of the US, I found the following names which might appeal to you:Oriana
Azaria
Julietta
Magdalen
Ariadne
Amaria
Adelina
Rosanna
Lucianna
CamelliaRe: Winterthe Welsh word for winter is Gaeaf, but the f is not pronounced in Modern Welsh, so you might consider Gaea (g-eye-uh, g as in god not George). It might get confused with the Greek Gaia (earth) though...

Well, Lissa isn't popular, and a nickname can be Lis. Jill isn't popular, but I can't think of a nickname for that one. Rosemary is nice, nickname being Rosie. Pamela - nickname Pam. Laura - nickname Lola.
