Does anyone knows how that name appeared in the Greek language, and when? Is it the equivqlent of Alice? I have checked that there is no greek saint bearing that name, nor is it an ancient grrek name. thank you for the help!

I think there may be a Saint Aliki in the
Eastern Orthodox church, that probably celebrates
her name day on Sept 1st which is similar to an All
Saints day. If possible check an icon which depicts
the 40 women martyrs which include Antigone, Kalliope
and others. If I find other good info I will write back again in
couple of days-if I find nothing then I will not write again.
Good Luck

Indeed, Aliki is the Greek version of Alice. It gaines popularity with Aliki Vougiouklaki, Greece's most popular movie actress of all time.
Although the name is not Greek, there are several sound-alike ancient Greek names including Alki, Alikea and Alkia.

I think Aliki is probably the original form of Alice, but I don't know anything else, sorry...
