More on Nanaia/Nanaea
I asked George Mantis, a Greek pagan friend, of any info he might have on Nanaia/Nanaea. Here's what he responded:
"...What I have in my memory right now is that
NANAIA, whom Egyptian Kushites called NAUNET or NUNUT, was the 1st woman(half-serpent/half-woman), while her husband NUN, the 1st man, was half-frog/half-man. After Patriarchy took over Matriarchy, she became Goddess of the Underworld.
NAINIA were Roman personifications of the Mournings for the Dead.
More about her tomorrow. I have to consult my numerous sources, you know..."
