I'm looking for a name that means "little seashell" and...
is Spanish. Is it out there somewhere?

I am spanish and the only name that could mean "little seashell" that I can think of is "Conchita". Is that the one? If not are there any other clues that you can provide?

Oh, Mike C....?Interesting that "Conchita" can have two quite different meanings like that, but I just checked it out and you were right! Conchita is a Spanish word which literally means "little seashell".Looks like Mike C. will have to revise the Conchita entry in the names data-base. :)-- Nanaea

Hmm, that is interesting. I looked up concha and it does indeed mean "shell" in Spanish ("seashell" I presume). Conchita would mean "little seashell".However the name Concha is listed by multiple name books/websites as being a diminutive of Concepcion. No reference is made to the other meaning, which has doubtlessly had some influence. Conchita is a double-diminutive.I will make a note of that in the entry.
