Does anyone know what it means, or what its origin is? I know it's a boys' name, because it was in the birth announcements. I looked in the database here, and it's nowhere to be found. Thanks!

I know the word 'sabra',which means a native-born Israeli (not an immigrant, in other words). There used to be a good brand of orange liqueur called Sabra, also quite nice pantyhose - but they've been off the market for decades.
Possibly someone modified it slightly to make it a name - -n endings are fasionable at the moment; think Aidan, Gavin etc.

Yes, Sabrin is also an arab name. I think its quite popular in Egypt (at least there's a Egyptian actress named Sabrin).
It comes from 'Sabr' (=patience), Sabrin is really 'Al Sabireen', meaning "the patient (people)". Popular among Muslims cause being patient, being from "the patient people", a most important feature of a muslim's personality (mentioned a lot in the Quran).
