Message: "Emmanuel" - Behind the Name

What do you think of the name Emmanuel? I like it, but I am hesitant that I would ever use it because of its religious connotations, since I am a "non-religious" person (I am not an atheist, but I am not religious either). If it weren't for that connotation, this name would be up there on my boy's list.
