Yeah, Indiana is more for a boy. I wouldn't use it, because it reminds me of Indiana Jones. I like the movie, but still wouldn't use it. It's a lot better than some celeb names you hear.

There's a South African TV presenter that named her daughter the exact same thing. I do think it's pretty although Indiana is not my usual style.

I dislike place/state names, so this is definitely icky to me. I don't feel like being eloquent, so yes, "icky". :P

Rose is such a blah MN, and with a place name in front of it, it feels like the name of the prize-winner at the state fair horticulture contest or something. First place: Indiana Rose! Second place: the Yellow Rose of Texas! All around an "eh" combo, I think.

Indiana is a guilty pleasure of mine. I think it's tacky if you've never been to Indiana (I haven't), but I love the sound. Rose is blah, but anything too different paired with Indiana would be too much.

I agree with you. It's a pretty name, but I prefer Indiana on a boy.
