Tatum

I strongly dislike Tatum - to be honest, it makes me think of potatoes ("taters"). I don't find the sound attractive at all.
It's cool, IF
You
A) Can name something Tatum O'Neal has done besides Paper Moon and that thing on the MyNetwork
or
B) Know what instrument Art Tatum played, in what style, and can name at least one piece by him.
Because whichever way you slice it, the name sounds like a tribute (in fact, O'Neal was named for Art Tatum). I like it, if it's a tribute. If it's just because "oh, it sounds nice," then it seems rather ignorant and silly to me--because I, like most people, will assume that you took the name from someone important, and finding out otherwise is always depressing.
Array ("Oh, you named your daughter after Claude Monet?" "No, who's that?" "*facepalm*")

The original "Bad News Bears."
I agree. I'm not too fond of the name though.

1. Piano
2. Jazz
3. Willow Weep For Me
I remember hearing about him in music class, a while back (2005 I took the class)
I couldn't remember a peice per say I had to think a bit, and looked it up online to make sure I was thinking of the right person. As I don't know tons about him (only what i learned in class), but I remember him playing the piano, and the style was jazz, with a bit of swing to it.
ETA: However I don't think it *has* to honor someone (if that were the case then everyone would have to be named after someone important IMO), but it is a nice thought to it, I have many names to honour people however Tatum is not one of them sorry to disappoint. Thanks for your opinion.
I like Jazz a lot, but I prefer more Classical music.
ETA: I know a girl named Monet by the way, lol.

Bebop was inspired by him later on, if i recall right. Yes I know it's beyond quite a lot of things, but I'm just stating what I learned from my teacher.
ETA: many consider him to be a genius when it comes to JAzz, however others may not think so, it depends on the person.
I cannot comment because I don't listen to much Jazz.
